Recogiendo y poco mas

Esta es la ilustracion con la que en su dia participe en Supeingo num. 2, no la subi en su dia pero ahora no tengo nada mas que subir.
Acabe contento con las sombras en este dibujo, pero los grises no son ni de cerca lo que tenia en mente, queria darle una textura como viscosa o escurridiza a los bichotes y de paso definir bien la cabeza, pero no hubo tiempo.
Hablando de tiempo, la semana pasada acabe el curso por fin, con 2 semanas de retraso y por fin tengo tiempo para dibujar. En 3 semanas o por ahi me pongo al dia con el blog y a hacer cosas nuevas, hasta entonces hay limpieza que hacer y paginas por terminar :)
A disfrutar de las vacacones los que tengais.

This is the Illustration I did for Supeingo. I was pretty happy with the shadows in this drawing but the grey tones are far from what I had in mind. I wanted to give the monsters a slimy texture, but there wasn't any ime for this little details back then. Anyways I was happy with it at the end which is what matters.
Also, I'm free from my course at last which means that soon I'll be able to catch up with all the blog stuff. Until then, see ya :)

Cambios en el blog

En dos ratos de aburrimiento en clase he hecho un dibujillo para la proxima cabezera del blog.
Todavia no se cuando hare los cambios ya que voy pillado con un par de proyectos que tienen mucha mas prioridad, pero con suerte antes de irme de aqui lo dejo todo bien organizado.
Quiero hacer todos los cambios de golpe, asi que si algun dia entrais al blog y no reconoceis nada, no os asusteis :P
La idea es que la marmota aqui presente vaya ligeramente animada en flash (pero que muy ligeramente xD) pero ya veremos que tal va todo.

PD. El moquillo probablemente desaparezca, pero es que en el boceto no me pude contener xD

This is a drawing i made when i got bored in class for the header i'm making for the new design of the blog.
The plan is to animate the groundhog a bit with flash, but we we'll see about that xD
I still don't know when I'll make the changes for the blog but I want to make them all at the same time, so don't panic if you ever pass by and everything is completelly changed :P

Como iba diciendo, he estado trabajando en las paginas que tenia pendientes desde que vine, y de nuevo debo parar ya que se estaba notando y mucho en mis estudios.
Asi que paron, y a esperar que pasen las 3 semanas que me quedan de clase para poder acabarlas.
He de decir que aunque estoy contento con las paginas, ha pasado un anyo desde que dibuje algunas de ellas y al mirarlas quiero cambiar muchas cosas que hice y ahora veo de otra manera.
Aqui van algunos descartes que no iran incluidos en las paginas de muestra porque o no entran en la disposicion de los planos o no estoy contento con el planteamiento de la vinyeta.

Por lo demas, el numero 2 de Supeingo ya esta agotado!! lo cual es una gran noticia :D y que nadie se haya quejado de mi ilustracion es otra buena noticia :P, gracias a todos los que comprasteis el fanzine :D

These are part of the pages that I've been working on and won't make it into the final version.
It's been a year since I drew most of them, but now that I carried on working on them college work keeps coming and I'm falling behind, so until I finish college in 3 weeks time I have to stop the work on these pages once more.
Oh and the fanzine Supeingo #2 is already sold out! :D and noone complained about my illustration there, so that's good news :P

Buenas gente, solo comentar que el numero 2 del fanzine Supeingo ya esta disponible aqui, asi que si os perdisteis el primero (que esta agotado) o os molo tanto que no podeis esperar a tener el segundo, no dudeis en pedir vuestro ejemplar ya mismo, que se agotan!!

En este segundo numero tengo la suerte de colaborar con una ilustracion , y aunque la hice en un par de ratos y no pude definir los grises y algunos detalles por falta de tiempo (-_-') creo que en general quedo bien >.< y si no pues ya podeis venir y quejaros aqui mismo y ya me currare mas la proxima si me invitan de nuevo.
Ea! ya subire algo un dia de estos :P

Acabando cosas

A falta de un par de meses para volver a España me encuentro acabando todo lo que llevo arrastrando desde que vine a Australia. Dandole los ultimos retoques al portafolio (que con suerte me dara trabajo en el futuro :P), acabando aquellas paginas que traia a medio hacer cuando vine, y cerrando algunos proyectos.
Mientras rebuscaba entre todos los dibujos me he encontrado con esto, quiza alguno recordara que hace como un anyo la gente de La Duna organizo un concurso de comic gotico, y yo que soy muy de concursos (y mas este que era solo una pagina) pues me puse a ello. Sorprendentemente no lo acabe a tiempo... -.-' y ya que no puedo ensenyar nada de las otras paginas pues posteo esto, que hace tiempo que no cuelgo nada.
Cuando vuelva volvere a estar mas activo, y visitar los blogs que solia visitar, y habra cambios en el blog :)

2 Months left for me to go back home :D, I'm finishing everthng I've been fiddling around with since I got here.
This is something I found while I was looking for old pages to carry on working, it belongs to a contest organized by the people of La Duna about a year ago, a one page comic related to gothic stuff. I never got to finish it (oh what a surprise... -.-') and I won't because if they organize a new one this year I would like to draw something new.
Once I'm back home I'll be back to be active around the blogs and I will change some things on this one. See ya for now :D

Sigo vivo! (o algo)
Pue han sido como 3 o 4 meses de inactividad blogera, y me han sentado bien la verdad.
He ido petado estos meses y no ha sido hasta ahora que he tenido un paron.
Ni si quiera me he podido pasar por otros blogs, por falta de tiempo, por pereza, y demas historias .
Mientras tanto, dibujar he dibujado poco o nada, y aun me queda que descansar para volver a cogerlo con ganas. He intentado no dibujar nada para el curso, y excepto en bocetos aqui o alli lo he cumplido.
En este post pongo un storyboard en el que tuve que dibujar por narices, y aunque estubo bien esto de dibujar de nuevo intente no darle muchos detalles y acabar pronto, que las fechas de entrega se me echaban encima.
A simple vista probablemente no tenga ningun sentido, pero ea es lo que hay, tampoco quiero aburriros con texto despues de tanto tiempo :P
A ver si ahora que tengo menos clases saco tiempo y ganas para algo mas.

It's been a long while since last post.
I have been really busy and I've had a long break from drawing, focusing on my studies and all.
RIght now I feel so lazy with all this blog stuff that I don't even fel like typing the same in 2 languages xD.
Anyway, the images under this post were for a storyboard for a TV ad that I had for one assessment, it was made quickly and it probably doesn't make any sense without the text, but I'm too lazy to do it propperly :P

Un poco de aire

Pues si, este fin de semana por fin puedo respirar (poco), que ya me hacia falta.
Sigo liado por supuesto, pero al menos las cosas que he de acabar ahora son para esta semana, no para hace dos xD
He de decir que en este tiempo he dibujado poco o nada, y lo poco que he hecho no ha llegado a buen puerto. No consegui buenas notas por el poster de los Extreme sports, ni por el de Art Deco+Art Nouveau, o al menos no tan buenas como yo queria.
El poster de los dos estilos al final no es para nada como yo lo queria, la ciudad al fondo que deberia ser en plan Art Deco no tenia nada de detalles, y los colores no encajaban. En el otro estilo, las lineas de la chica no son lo suficientemente redondeadas, no consegui salirme mas de mi estilo al contrario de lo que planee en un principio. Pero supongo que de todo se aprende.
Como nota mas negativa posteo por aqui abajo el dibujo de halloween que le dije a Sombra que haria para esa fecha. Intente acabarlo la noche de halloween aqui, en 20 minutos antes de irme a dormir, pero me atasque con las caras de los crios y no volvi a disponer de tiempo suficiente para arreglarlo, al menos dejo ahi la intencion, y a ver si la proxima vez doy la talla.

At last I have some little time to breathe this weekend, I really needed it.
I'm still busy, but at least what I have to finish now is due this coming week, not due 2 weeks ago like before :P
I haven't been able to draw much in all this time, and the little things I did didn't go very well. I didn't get very good marks for the drawings I used for some class work, and the drawings I had to do for Sombra for Halloween is still unfinished since that night, and I don't know if I'll ever finish it anymore (lost motivation for it after so long).

Poster

Ando mas liado que una madeja.
Tengo pendiente un poster combinando Art Nouveau y Art Deco desde hace mas de una semana que no es que no quiera hacerlo, pero he ido petado acabando una pagina web, un libro de cocina mejicana, y un disenyo para un CD y demas chorradillas (todo trabajillos para el curso, nada importante :P).
Para hacerlo todo incluso mejor, ahora tengo que acabar un disenyo de un poster para unos hipoteticos Extreme Sports.
Intente como pude no tener que dibujar para este poster, pero no encontre la imagen que buscaba por ningun lado. Ahora toca trabajar como un loco todo el finde para ponerme al dia. El dibujo para el poster os lo dejo por ahi abajo, probablemente le quite las lineas negras que no pegan con la idea que llevaba en un principio, y me saturan la imagen un huevo.
No estoy muy contento con el brazo izquierdo del skater, ni con los dedos que parecen morcillas -.-' ( si es que se echa de menos la comida de alli digo yo :P).

I'm really busy at the moment, I have to catch up with some work that is been chasing me for the last 2 weeks, plus some new asignments to do now.
The drawing I post down here is for some Extreme Sport competiton poster that we have to do for our illustrator classes. I probably will delete all the black lines afer I'm done tracing, they make the drawing too saturated and it's not what I was looking for ( but I couldn't find a bloody skater in this pose :P)

Art Jumble

Estoy basante desconectado de los blog estas ultimas semanas, hay mucho que acabar y poco tiempo.
Aun asi estoy contento de haber recibido esta semana la confirmacion de que fui aceptado en Art Jumble, algo mas de un mes despues de haber realizado la peticion :P
La idea era tener algo que me mantenga dibujando mas cosas, y eso de currarse un dibujillo por semana y compartirlo con un monton de artistas sonaba muy bien.
Por suerte en unas de mis clases esta semana pude hacer un dibujo rapido y colorearlo rapidamente para empezar a colaborar. Por aqui abajo os lo dejo.
Tendre mas tiempo el finde que viene, a ver si puedo sequir haciendo mas cosillas por aqui, y pasarme por los otros blogs.

Hay dias que te sientes...
El pasado mes de marzo me presente de nuevo al concurso en el que fui premiado por el comic que postee por aqui hace algun tiempo. Esta vez estaba mas convencido, con mejor dibujo y narrativa (creo), y una historia mucho mejor (aunque no es mi estilo y no me gusta mucho, pero decir que la del anyo anterior era mala es decir poco).
12 participantes, 3 premios...tenia esperanzas de pillar algo xD, pero al final nada.
Siendo objetivos, quiza el comic no tenia la calidad necesaria, hay varias vinyetas con las que no estoy nada contento, y el resultado en general lo veo bastante peor que las paginas que estoy haciendo ahora por ejemplo.
Es lo que tienen las prisas tambien :P En cualquier caso estoy seguro que los comics premiados se lo merecian, asi que no queda mas que aceptarlo, mejorar mis fallos, y hacerlo mejor el anyo que viene.
Ahi abajo teneis el comic por si le quereis echar un vistazo, la unica pagina con la que estoy realmente contento es la primera, fue a la que mas tiempo le dedique...

Last March I sent another comic to that contest in which I got a prize last year for the comic I posted here 2 or 3 months ago.
I wasn't as lucky this time, but I will try harder for the next one.
I'll post more about it somtime this weekend, and an english version of the pages. I just don't feel like it right now :P

He vuelto!!(creo) :P
Entre unas cosas ha sido practicamente un mes desde el ultimo post.
Por desgracia en este tiempo no he dibujado nada del proyecto que me traigo entre manos, pense en postear el fotomontaje que hize para mis clases de fotochop, pero no se yo si pega micho en el blog.
Hoy por fin he tenido un dia libre, y aunque sigo pensando que no deberia mostrar nada del proyecto sin el aprovado del guionista, no tengo ninguna otra cosa que ensenyar y de todas maneras a finales de mes las paginas de muestra ya estaran listas para mover por ahi a ver que pasa.
Asi que disfrutad del avance, aunque sean bocetos sin mucho trabajado :P

Online Games

Este finde he recuperado uno de mis viejos malos vicios: los juegos online.
Ya estuve viciado en el pasado, y estuve apartado del dibujo como 3 anyos sin hacer casi nada...y este finde he vuelto a caer, aunque es leve, y solo para desconectar un poco.
No me veo dedicandole tanto tiempo como hice en el pasado, pero de vez en cuando puedo recaer :P
Nunca tuve dinero para jugar al WoW como el resto de la gente, yo jugaba al Silkroad Online, y alli me tire mas de dos anyos hasta que acabe hasta los mismisimos de los bots y demas mierda.
Este dibujo lo hice hace un anyo exacto, despues de volver a jugar por una temporada, y justo antes de dejarlo de nuevo, quizas por eso nunca lo acabe'(volvia a estar hasta las narices del juego). Pero tengo en mente hacerlo en algun momento este anyo. Por eso de momento lo posteo en pequenyo.
Intentare mantener el vicio mas moderado, asi que nos vemos por aqui de vez en cuando :P

This weekend I've been playing some online game again. I used to play quite a lot in teh past and I even stayed 3 years without drawing pretty much anything.
It was just to chill a bit, I don't think I'll go back to that hardcore grinding :P
I never had money to play WoW as most people did.
I played Silkroad Online, I started back at the beginning of the open beta, and I sticked to it for over 2 years till I got sick of the bots and all the shit.
I did this drawign a year ago, just before leaving the game again after being back for a while. Maybe that's why I never felt like finishing it.
I shall finish it sometime this year, so I post it small-sized for now.
I'll try to control my games addiction, so see ya around here sometime :P

Shading

Estoy disfrutando estos ultimos dias, nada de escribir, solo dibujar. Aunque estuve con perspectiva casi toda la semana y no se disfruta tanto, el viernes fue bastante bien.
Empezabamos a dibujar naturaleza muerta, y para aprender a sombrear repartieron unos apuntes sacados de un libraco.
El halcon del dibujo fue lo que mejor salio en toda la tarde, tambien se ve un poco de la cabeza de buho que no me dio tiempo a terminar, y una esquina mi iPod sin muchas sombras ya que lo hice antes de recibir mis apuntes.
Quede satisfecho con el resultado aunque para mi le falta mas contraste(no tenia los lapices blandos a mano)pero es una tecnica que me gusto bastante. No creo que la llegue a usar en mis dibujos de comic, pero para alguna ilustracion o algo si que intentare usar ese sombreado y aprender mas estilos :)
La semana que viene, la figura humana, eso si que va a estar bien :)
A pasar buen finde gente!

It's been fun the last few days, all that writting is finished, now I'm just drawing all the time. Even though I had perspective cases and i don't like it as much, Friday was cool.
We had to start drawing still life, andfor that we got some sheets that teach us how to shade.
Ths hawk was the best I did that day, it need more contrast in my opinion, but I'm happy with the result.
You can see a little of the owl head I left unfinished, and a corner of my iPod :P
I really liked the shading tecnique, and I think I will use it some future illustrations, but I won't for my comic pages as is a totally different style.
Next week: Human body, that's going to be fun :)

Stress!

Pues eso, llevo algun tiempo estresado con un monton de cosas asi que perdon por no postear nada en tanto tiempo.
En primer lugar tengo que acabar unos trabajos para el curso que estoy haciendo y escribir un ensayo, y eso anyadido a que me perdi varias clases por ponerme malo no esta siendo tan facil como deberia (y escribir ensayos en ingles no esta siendo facil tampoco :P).
En segundo lugar, otra cosa que me tiene ocupado es un antiguo proyecto de comic que estoy terminando estos dias, del que desafortunadamente no puedo ensenyar mas que la vinyeta que acompanya a este post( y aun asi no se si deberia ensenyarla).
Esta en una fase temprana, a falta de arreglar cosas aqui o alli, pero las expresiones estan justo como las queria.
Y eso es todo de momento, a ver si me pongo al dia con el curso y puedo volver a mis practicas diarias.
Felices Vacaciones a los que estais de veraneo! :P

I've been pretty stressed for the past weeks, so 'm sorry I didn't post anything in all this time.
First thing that got me busy was the course I'm doing here. I missed some classes because I got sick, and now I'm trying to catch up and finish some essays and work that needed to be done already.
On the other hand I'm also trying to finish an old comic project I had going on. I can't show more than the frame in this post ( and maybe I shouldn't even show that :P) but s far I'm happy with the look of it all.
The frame is at an early stage, need to fix some things here and there, but the expressions I wanted in the girls are pretty much as I wanted them to be.

Practicando

Ahora que vuelvo a ser persona he podido acabar este dibujo de practica.
Dibujando algo de videojuegos y demas durante mis practicas diarias esto es lo unico ensenyable de momento. Normalmente en la hora que me puse como limite no paso de un boceto bastante primerizo.
Este en cuestion esta mas trabajado, dedicandole mas tiempo para poder postearlo, la idea era utilizar ese recuadro al fondo y rellenarlo con las tipicas vidrieras del Kingdom Hearts y demas.
Para los que no los conozcan, son Sora y Sephirot (en la version del KH). A ver si van saliendo mas cosillas pronto.

This drawing comes from my daily 1 hour drawings practice.
I have to say, so far I don't get past a very early stage sketch in those 1 hour practices, but this drawing comes from working on one of those sketches.
The back square was supposed to be filled with some background of some sort, but I won't get into that now.
For those who don't know those 2 fighting they are Sora from Kingdom Hearts and Sephiroth ( in the KH version).
I Have to keep practicing with this, hopefully something good will come out of it :)

Llevo bastante tiempo sin postear intentando terminar algunas cosillas, liado con el curso y demas.
Uno de los proyectos que estaba terminando era mi propuesta para el cartel del Salon del Manga de Barcelona cuyo plazo acababa hace un par de dias y al que para no variar he vuelto a llegar tarde. Se que el manga no es lo mio,pero habia participado en un par de ocasiones anteriormente, y siempre eata bien intentar aprender un estilo nuevo.

La cuestion es que estoy hasta las narices de no acabar nada a tiempo, tengo problemas con los bocetos ( lo que siempre hace que me retrase), dibujo demasiado lento en general ( lo que no es nada bueno si quiero hacer algo serio en este mundillo), y acabo cansandome de mis propias paginas por el tiempo que llevo atascado en ellas, cuando lo que quiero es seguir dibujando de otras ideas.
El plan esta claro, estoy trabajando en mis bocetos desde hace una semana en el poco tiempo que me queda libre, y tengo como reto hacer un dibujo a una pagina cada dia, de lo que sea...pelis, videojuegos,libros..., en 1 hora algo asi, empezando este Lunes, y sin mas pretensiones que ganar velocidad y con la practica esperemos que calidad de dibujo tambien.
Y como dicen por ahi, al que no le guste que no mire.
Dejo la propuesta del cartel por ahi abajo, aunque no estaba nada contento con como iba ( lo cual ayudo al abandono).

It's been a long while since last post, but I've been pretty busy with my course and all.
I was trying to finish some illustration for a contest, but once again I was late.
I'm really fed up with the situation: mistakes during sketching, everyhing gets delayed after, then I grow bored from my own pages and in the end I'm either late or never finish.
So for the next motnths I'm going to be working in sketching and quick drawing only.
I'll make a daily 1 hour drawing or something like that about movies, videogames, books, and so.
Just trying to improve my skills while i leave time to finish my studies, wich is the main thing.

This is the poster for the contest, its unfinished, but i wasnt happy at all about how it was looking, wich probably was one more reason why I decided to give up.

Lara + Award

Esta es la idea que tenia en un principio para dibujar a Lara, al final estuve liado el finde y no pude acabarlo a tiempo. De todas maneras me retrase bastante ya que estuve peleandome con las piernas de Lara demasiado tiempo (al contrario de lo que podais pensar, no fue muy agradable :P) y probando cosas con color.
Al final no estaba nada satisfecho con como iba el color que estaba aplicando, asi que decidi entintarlo, pero iguamente desisti en seguir ya que debia definir muchas zonas de sombra que habia dejado sin hacer con el lapiz, y se me estaba yendo ya demasiado en esto.
Lo dejo a medio en plan boceto porque tengo que acabar varias cosas para la semana que viene.

This is the idea I had for making a TR illustration, in the end i was not able to finish it for the weekend cause i was busy, and after struggling with Lara's legs and some color testings I decided to use some ink on it.
In the end I leave it sketchy like, cause theres still a lot to do, define shadows and everything that was not done with the pencils (thinking I was going to color it with the computer).
I have some works to finish for next week anyway, so I shouldn't put more time on this one.

En segundo lugar agradecer a Hikari el premio que concedio a mi blog :D, por aqui lo posteo, aunque lamentablemente no creo que siga la cadena ya que no soy muy dado a este tipo de cosas, ni tampoco tengo 15 blogs a los que premiar :P, en cualquier caso, muchisimas gracias!! ^_^

Giant Mutant

Este domingo termine por fin el Tomb Raider Anniversary de la Wii, lo tenia a medio desde hace casi un año y ahora que tengo algo de tiempo, pues me puse a ello.
Tenia pensado hacer un dibujo al respecto, ya que esta version de Lara me gusta bastante mas que la de los juegos anteriores, bastante mas estilizada y normalilla, pero justo antes de acabar me tope con este bichote, y como molaba tanto, tuve que hacerle un dibujo tambien.
Me he liado que te cagas con los colores, y al final no sabia ni como terminar, dejo cosas sin hacer, las runas estan de aquella manera, pero estoy contento con el resultado general.
Aun asi acabare el otro que tenia abocetado, a ver si para este finde...

Last sunday i finished Tomb Raider Anniversary for Wii, I had it half way done since almost a year ago and now that I have some free time I thought it was time to get it over.
I was thinking on making an illustration of Lara once i was done, cause i liked this version of her much more than I did on the prequels, she's slimmer and more "normal" looking in this one, but as I was getting closer to the end of the game I encountered this big guy in the way, and it was so cool that i had to make some drawing of it :P
I got a bit fed up in the end with the colors, so i leave some stuff unfinished, and the runes are not very detailed and so...
I will still finish that other sketch of Lara I was working on, hopefully for this weekend...

La idea era dibujarme montado en un emu, pero como tienen unas plumas muy complejas de dibujar y bastante feas todo sea dicho, pues me subi a un avestruz que viene a ser lo mismo ( no es originaria de Australia pero bueno).
Y es que tras una breve visita a Barcelona para el XXVII Salo del Comic, puse rumbo a las antipodas donde pretendo quedarme una temporada (diria un anyo, pero estos teclados no tienen enyes...ni tildes ya que nos ponemos -.-') y ya recuperado del jet lag y demas inconveniencias vuelvo a postear y estar activo por estos lares.
Del dibujo hay varias cosas con las que no he quedado muy contento, pero en general me gusta el resultado. Por una vez pretendia hacer las lineas cineticas del suelo adecuadamente, pero no hay manera de encontrar reglas curvas por aqui...

The idea was to draw myself riding an emu (dont get me wrong...), but their feathers are quite complex to draw and pretty ugly if you ask me, so I chose an ostrich instead, they are not australian, but they also live around here nowadays anyway.
The thing is I've come to Australia to study for the next year, and now that I'm done dealing with jet lag and such things, I'm back to blogging.
There are some things I don't feel very happy about this drawing, but I still like how it looks in the end. I didn't feel like putting more time into it to fix some little things like some color details and so, cause I think the idea I had when I planned this drawing is already pretty clear.

Bueno, es oficial, no acabo las páginas a tiempo para el Salón de Barcelona, y para desquitarme un poco he hecho este dibujillo rápido.
Esta es mi pequeña aportacion al proyecto de Lidia-chan (mi 2º seguidora w00t!) para ver a su Crystal en diferentes estilos por sus seguidores. La verdad es que después de leer las paginas en su blog no pude pensar mas que en esa niña a la que le acaban de romper su muñeco preferido, y como molaria coserlo, y vengarse por medio del muñeco, y los poderes telequineticos de Crystal xD....claro que quiza una niña de 4 años no sea tal malvada y vengativa :P
Me gustaría haber tenido mas tiempo para retocar el dibujo, pero tiempo es lo que más me falta estos días.

Well, I'm not making it on time for that Barcelona comic convention, so having a break from the project I am working on I made this quickie sketch.
This is my version of Lidia-chan's manga character Crystal. Truth is after reading the pages she has in her blog, i couldn't help thinking about that little girl whose favorite stuffed toy gets stolen and ripped into pieces, so I thought how cool would be to have her fix the toy and use her telekinetic powers to make him move and take revenge xD...but probably 4 year old girls arent that evil (or are they? :P)
I would've loved to have more time to fix certain things on the drawing, and color it too, but time is something I'm lacking these days.

Ahora que por fin tengo algo de tiempo, he empezado a preparar un proyecto junto a Claudio Cerdán para enseñar y mover un poco en este salón del comic de Barcelona (si llego a tiempo...).
La verdad es que voy de culo para terminar las páginas que queríamos tener, pero todo esto me ha recordado a la última vez que lo intenté en serio.

Hacia 2003, con historia del guionista UE (Fulgencio Jiménez) nació Sire, nuestro modesto intento de llegar a alguna editorial. En un mundo de vampiros, orcos y demás mierda, dos hermanos luchaban por sobrevivir y se sorprendían al descubrir sus propios poderes... La historia no llego a más, pero disfrutamos bastante realizando el proyecto.
Lo que más me gusta es la ultima viñeta que hay dibujada, es donde empezaba a sentirme cómodo dibujando (era la segunda historieta que dibujaba en mi vida), pero por desgracia nadie se interesó ( no les faltaba razón ) y ahí acabó todo.

Now that i have some free time at last, I'm trying to get some pages ready to show at the comic convention taking place next weekend in Barcelona. With writer Claudio Cerdán taking care of the Story, It should come out to be good stuff ( if I ever get to finish it on time... I'm falling so far behind schedule T_T ). But working in all this just reminded me of last time I tried seriously to publish some comic book.

Back in 2003, writer UE ( Fulgencio Jiménez ) and I worked on this story called Sire, it was full of vampires, orcs, and stuff of the like, and between all that, 2 brothers tried to survive and discovered their own great powers... The thing didn't work out ( no wonder why really ) and just when i was feeling more comfortable with my drawing (down that last frame, that's the one I like the most btw ) we had to stop working on it. I hope you like having a look at how things were back then^^

Esta aprendiz de bruja debía estar coloreada en otro estilo y con otros colores, pero como todavía soy un aprendiz en esto del color, ella pagó los platos rotos.
El dibujo tiene tiempo ya, pero voy liado ultimamente y no puedo subir nada de lo nuevo de momento.

This witchie was supposed to be coloured in a diferent style, and with other colors, but I'm still learning how to color stuff.
The illustration is a bit old now, but i will post some of my recent work when I'm allowed to do it.

El Barco de Argos es el nombre bajo el cual se editó una recopilación de historias cortas en la que participé como ilustrador. De esto hará cosa de 2 años, y no controlaba mucho de photoshop por aquel entonces. Ahí van algunas de las ilustraciones para el libro.

El Barco de Argos (Argos' Ship) is the name of a short stories compilation published a couple of years ago and wich included some illustrations of mine. I was not that great using photoshop back then, but here you can check some of the artwork for the book.

Korlomidas

Esta bestia llamada Korlomidas está sacada del libro El Dios de los Mutilados del grandísimo escritor Claudio Cerdán. Para ser su primera novela es un libro genial, me impresionó bastante, y por eso me puse manos a la obra para realizar algun dibujo referente a la misma.
Aquí os dejo un par de versiones de este centauro por llamarlo de alguna manera.

This beast named Korlomidas belongs to the book El Dios de los Mutilados by Claudio Cerdán. Being his first novel, it really surprised me what a great job he had done, so I made this version of one of his characters.
Here you have some versions of this centaur or however you want to call him.

Este pedazo de juego era la primera parte por así decirlo en la máquina del Three Wonders donde podías elegir entre un juego de acción "Midnight Wanderers", uno de "navecillas" y disparar por un tubo "Chariot", y uno de puzzles "Don't Pull".

This is for the Blog War at Kame House, the old arcade game i made a version of is Midnight Wanderers, wich was part of the "3 Wonders" machine. There you could choose between "Midnight Wanderers", "Chariot" (MW sequel), and "Don't Pull".

El Midnight Wanderers era el único que me pasaba con cinco duros, porque el Chariot era más difícil que la madre que lo parió, así que ahí van mis 5 duros.

Midnight Wanderers was the only one i could finish with only 1 credit because Chariot was way too hard, and I didn't like the 3rd game. That's why I made this version of it. The color was fast and not too great as it was just for a blog war.

The Minotaur

Viendo que hoy tampoco acabo el dibujo para la Blog War, hoy toca postear algo, que si no el blog se queda muy parado.
Mucha gente me dice que es lo mejor que he hecho hasta la fecha, por mucho que tenga ya más de un año, y la verdad es que quedé muy satisfecho con el acabado.
La lástima es que no conserve el archivo en un tamaño mas grande, parece ser que tanto cambio de un ordenador a otro me ha pasado factura. Aún así veré a ver si puedo consegurilo. Mientras, aquí está la versión reducida.

As it seems I'm not going to finish the Blog War drawing today, I think it's time to post something.
Many people say this is the best drawing / illustration I have made so far, and truth is I am really satisfied with the result.
Shame is I don't have the full size version of it, I will look for it, but in the mean time here is the smaller version.

Confused Food

Hace 1 año, mientras vivía en Londres trabajé con PastyFace London Ltd. en un proyecto llamado "Confused Food". Se trataba de una serie de ilustraciones en plan cartoon para unas camisetas con animales o alimentos "confundidos". Viendo el primero Karate-Squid ( squid = calamar) en lugar de Karate Kid supongo que pillais la idea. En los colores estuve muy limitado, pero aun así hoy cambiaría algunos que en mi opinión no son del todo apropiados.

One year ago, while I was living in London I worked with PastyFace London Ltd. on a project named "Confused Food". I had to make some cartoon designs of "confused" animals and food. With the first one Karate-Squid instead of Karate Kid I guess you get the idea.
Regarding the colours i was quite restricted, but even so, I would change some of them for others that I think might look better.

Habemus nueva BlogWar!
El ganador de Blogger Fighter IV Wars, Gamusino Javi de Zapatillas Rusas, propone como tema para ésta nueva guerra las máquinas recreativas de 5 duros, lo que implica que sean juegos de cuando las recreativas nos costaban una de esas maravillosas y enormes monedas.

La mecánica del concurso es similar a las anteriores; os curráis una versión de vuestro juego favorito de la época, ya sea una escena, una portada o un póster, por ejemplo, acompañada de una breve historia, el logo (ver más abajo) y un enlace a vuestro blog.
Todos los participantes se expondrán en Kame House bajo la etiqueta 5 Duros Wars.

Pues se acabaron las páginas de cómic, y es que desde que acabé esas del último post, no he vuelto a dibujar nada más que algunas ilustraciones (no muchas) y probar cosas con photoshop, a ver si este año espabilo y vuelvo a dibujar alguna historieta.

Well, comic pages are over, the thing is I haven't drawn any comic related stuff since the ones i posted last time (wich were made 3 years ago), all I've been doing is some illustrations to use photoshop and get comfortable with it. Hopefully this year I make some more comic pages.

Pues eso, continuando con el post anterior aquí os dejo lo que era la continuación de esas 4 páginas que adapté para el concurso. Lo cierto es que nunca llegué a acabarlas adecuadamente, pero me parecen bastante mejores que las anteriores, aunque llenas de fallos igualmente :P
Añado también un par de diseños que tenía de cuando empezé a trabajar en la idea.

Premio en Cómic / Comic Prize

A finales del año pasado gané mi primer premio en un concurso de cómic, pero de alguna manera no estoy muy orgulloso de ello. El cómic que presenté lo hize hace casi 3 años, y siento que ahora mismo lo habría hecho mucho mejor, quizás por eso no me siento orgulloso.
En cuanto al color casi me daban ganas de pasarlo a escala de grises, lo veo todo muy brillante y casi estridente, pero bueno, con la practica se aprende... o eso dicen.

At the end of last year I won my first prize in a comic contest, but somehow I'm not very proud of it. I made that comic almost 3 years ago, and I fell I could do much better now, maybe that's why I don't feel so proud.
About the colour, I almost felt like changing it to a greyscale, i see everything too bright and not right colored, but you learn with practice... or so they say.

La Amazona Intergaláctica

Hace un par de años colaboré con www.sedice.com realizando unas tiras cómicas junto al escritor y guionista Claudio Cerdán (ver blog). Lástima que no durara demasiado.

A couple of years ago I made some comic strips for www.sedice.com with writter Claudio Cerdán ( see blog ). Shame that it didn't last long. I'm sorry only one of the strips is in english, but you get the idea at least.

En cierto momento quise dedicarles un formato página, en vez de sólo una tira, para ver si así conseguíamos un mayor espacio en el fanzine Tierras De Acero donde también salían publicadas (a tamaño código de barras...), pero el proyecto nunca vió la luz. Este es el aspecto que habría tenido.

At some point I decided to change the strips to a 1 page format, and see if we could get some bigger space in Tierras de Acero, a fanzine where they also were published ( in bars code size...), but the project never came out public.This is how it started to look after the change:

Dibujos sueltos/Random Drawings

Con ésto empiezo a postear imágenes por fin, unas tienen ya bastante tiempo, otras son más recientes, pero no dejan de ser dibujos sueltos, encargos, portadas de cd para amigos, intentos de carteles, etc.. nada significativo. En las pocas que hay a color se puede ver cierta evolucion, desde cuando toqué el photoshop por primera vez, hasta algo ya mas currado. Aun así el color es algo que llevo bastante mal, pero todo sera practicar y aprender.

With this I begin to post images at last, some of them are quite old, some others are more recent, but all of them are just random drawings, cd covers for friends, posters attempts, ... nothing too important. In the few ones with colour you can see some change, since the first one when I didn't even know how photoshop works, to the last one, with some more quality. Colouring is something I don't do very well, and need to improve it soon, but time will come.

Hola gente, he creado este blog para postear dibujos, bocetos, y demas chorradas que se me ocurran.
Hasta ahora solo he hecho algo de cómic (muy malamente) pero pronto empezaré a aprender algo de diseño gráfico, asi que espero poder ir posteando cosas mas chulas.
El blog vendrá en español en inglés como ya he visto en otros que suelo visitar, por necesidades que no vienen al cuento :P puede que no digan lo mismo, pero si traduzco palabra por palabra me lío...
